Best Websites to Go for Surf Reports
There is really only one place worth going to for your daily surf check.. and that is the all-knowing Surfline.com. If you would like a second or third opinion, there are also a couple of other websites out there where you can check out the surf before you head off to the beach. Surfline
Number one wave checking website in my book and everyone else's. Daily surf reports and live cams from California, Hawaii, the East Coast, and choice beaches around the world. Surfline is also a wealth of surfing information with accurate forecasts, important news, amazing photos and videos, and tons more to keep you up-to-date and in the know. More features come with a paid membership, but if you just want to get a good idea of how the waves are holding up then this is the place to go. Wetsand
The runner up when it comes to surf report sites in my opinion. Wetsand always seems to call waves bigger than they actually are and often gets my hope up for an incoming swell that fails to deliver. Still.. it is worth checking out as there is some cool surf travel info here as well as some videos. If you don't think the waves are that great, check out Wetsand and maybe they will make it sound good enough for you to get off your butt and go surfing. Wavewatch
What better way is there to get a surf check then by viewing a live footage from the beach? In addition to surf forecasts, Wavewatch offers live surf cams from the most popular beaches around. Unfortunately, there are only twenty or so cams, but it will give you an idea of what is out there. And they even let you control the camera.. if only for a few seconds. |
